Sightsavers International had a prelaunch meet of the Mumbai Eye Care Campaign at the Dr.Chokshi Auditorium of the Tata Memorial Hospital , Parel (E). The motive of this meet was to get the entire team on the same platform and discuss in details the objectives and the goals of the campaign. Partner Organizations, Local NGO's and health workers attended this meet which turned out to be a great success.
Dr. Kumbhar – Ast. Director Health Care – Ophthalmology Govt of Maharashtra, chaired the meet.He said " I am very excited about such a mammoth campaign being launched exclusively for Mumbai, i will do whatever is possible on my behalf to support the camapign

Elizabeth Kurian - the Regional Director of Sightsavers international India, opened the meet with a brief about the work of Sightsavers International. Pratima Harite form Standard Chartered Bank expressed her happiness about being able to be a part of the campaign. She also fondly remembered the associations that Standard Chartered Bank has had with Sightsavers international over the years. Bhavana Pande the Project Manager of the campaign discussed in detail what the campaign is all about and the challenges that lay ahead.The meet included screening of documentaries about the work of Sightsavers International and also had street plays performed by Aqua - theatre.
The meet concluded with the national anthem and with Shriniwas Sawant - Regional Director South india - Sightsavers international , encouraging the entire team to work towards making this campaign a great success. The campaign was covered by Times of India, DNA, CNBC Awaaz and the Indian Express.
